Not much can draw me from the sanctuary that is my room during winter, but there are a few exceptions, and the Monster Energy MX Nationals proved to be one of those events.
As one of the major sponsors, Expand a Sign, was there in full force and I joined eight of my fellow co-workers to show our support at Round 3 of the Monster Energy MX Nationals which was held at the TEZA MX track at KwaMbonambi in Richards Bay on the weekend of the 14th and 15th of June 2014.
Two Expand A Sign branded ExDome Gazebos with walls were brought along and erected to provide shelter against the elements (and creepy crawlies) for those who were brave enough to stay the night.
Riders continuously vote the TEZA MX track as one of the best tracks in SA and it is not hard to see why. Besides the amazing backdrop of the hills and beautiful South African countryside in which it is set, the track itself is well laid out and on the day, was impeccably prepared, with fast sweeping bends and numerous jumps. It provided exciting motor racing for both the riders and the masses of spectators in attendance.
Our Wing and Feather banners stood out, and could be seen from afar flying high and proud along the main straights.
The races were divided into different age groups and cc classes and we were in awe of the younger kids who had guts to ride so fast and jump so high. It was wonderful to see the wealth of talent we have in South Africa and encouraging to witness the level of skill in the younger age groups.
The road show heads to the Eastern Cape for Round 4.
